Monthly Guild Gathering – Food Forest Gardens in England
Join us Wednesday August 3rd at 6:30 PM at our next Permaculture Guild gathering with Mike Boss, founder of Rock & Rose Landscapes and PDC holder, for a presentation and discussion on Food Forest Gardens in England. Mike will show slides of three different food forest gardens he visited during his recent trip to England including: Martin Crawford’s wild and ‘natural’ Forest Garden at Dartington, England’s premier and oldest forest garden; the Eden Project in Cornwall, an amazing and innovative example of waste land being regenerated in a way that educates people about the human connection to the plant world; and the Royal Horticultural Society’s garden at Rosemoor, an outstanding ornamental English Garden, with a recently planted forest garden section.
Gathering begins around 6:30 p.m. over food and networking – all are welcome to bring a potluck dish to share. Our guest speaker will begin around 7 p.m. and discussion usually runs until about 9 p.m. Prior to the meeting, from 5:30-6:30 p.m., the Guild Council meets to review business matters related to the guild. All are welcome to attend.
The Gazebo Room, California Pacific Medical Center, Davies Campus
The Gazebo is on the 1st floor of the South Tower. The South Tower is straight ahead as you enter the driveway. The driveway entrance is in the middle of Castro Street between 14th and Duboce Streets. You’ll see the entrance to the campus on your left. It’s the building that has the big lighted EMERGENCY ENTRANCE sign. If you enter on the ground floor, take the elevator UP to the first floor.
If you come by public transportation, take the N Judah to the Duboce Street stop and walk up towards Castro. If you drive, there’s a parking lot at the end of the driveway on your right, or you can try to find someplace on the street before entering the driveway.
