Hayes Valley Farm
Hayes Valley Farm is a City funded, Parks Trust sponsored, Volunteer driven project working to build an education facility and research center with a focus on Mayor Newsom's directive "Healthy and Sustainable Food for San Francisco." The site is being built on an interim-use agreement with the City and the Hayes Valley Neighborhood Association, constructing an urban farm on a former freeway. The project includes:
- Education and Green Job Cultivation
- Research and Innovation on Tools & Techniques for Sustainable Urban Agriculture
- 45,000 square feet of gardening
- Freeway Food Forest including 150 fruit trees over 2000 plants
- Plant Nursery
- Site-based and Community-based programming
Hayes Valley Farm is located at 450 Laguna Street (between Fell & Oak) in the center of San Francisco.
