San Francisco Permaculture Guild Monthly Gathering – Mushrooms of the Bay Area and Beyond

All are invited to our monthly guild meeting, Wednesday, November 2nd at 6:30 PM. Come connect with other permaculture designers and enthusiasts!

A Permie’s Guide to Edible and Other Interesting Mushrooms of the Bay Area and Beyond

Using a permaculture approach, this lecture and discussion will offer guild members a basic understanding of the many mushrooms found around the Bay Area and elsewhere. We’ll learn not only some basics in identification but also some interesting uses for mushrooms whether in the garden, saute pan, on the art palette, or other endeavors. Be ready for a fun and informative evening into the fascinating world beneath our feet.

David Gardella is the JCCSF’s Urban Agriculture Specialist, coordinating both the rooftop garden area and urban gardening program. When not tending to the garden, David can be found teaching a variety of art courses throughout the Bay Area with students ranging from age 2 to 86. He is also the Past President of the Mycological Society of San Francisco and has been on the governing council since 2009.

The Gazebo Room, California Pacific Medical Center, Davies Campus
The Gazebo is on the 1st floor of the South Tower. The South Tower is straight ahead as you enter the driveway. The driveway entrance is in the middle of Castro Street between 14th and Duboce Streets. You’ll see the entrance to the campus on your left. It’s the building that has the big lighted EMERGENCY ENTRANCE sign. If you enter on the ground floor, take the elevator UP to the first floor.

If you come by public transportation, take the N Judah to the Duboce Street stop and walk up towards Castro. If you drive, there’s a parking lot at the end of the driveway on your right, or you can try to find someplace on the street before entering the driveway.
