Monthly San Francisco Permaculture Guild Gathering Wednesday April 6th: Building with Mycelium
Come join us on Wednesday April 6th from 6:30-9:00 p.m. for this exciting talk about Mycotecture, the practice of building with mycelium, with Philip Ross, CTO and Co-founder of MycoWorks.
Mycelium materials are compostable and can serve carbon-sequestering and waste remediating functions when grown on agricultural byproducts, making mycotecture a unique solution for environmentally sustainable building.
For more information about MycoWorks, and Philip’s work, visit: http://www.mycoworks.com/.
Gathering begins around 6:30 p.m. over food and networking – all are welcome to bring a potluck dish to share. Our guest speaker Philip will begin around 7 p.m. and discussion usually runs until about 9 p.m. Prior to the meeting, from 5:30-6:30 p.m., the Guild Council meets to review business matters related to the guild. All are welcome to attend.
The Gazebo is on the 1st floor of the South Tower. The South Tower is straight ahead as you enter the driveway. The driveway entrance is in the middle of Castro Street between 14th and Duboce Streets. You’ll see the entrance to the campus on your left. It’s the building that has the big lighted EMERGENCY ENTRANCE sign. If you enter on the ground floor, take the elevator UP to the first floor.
If you come by public transportation, take the N Judah to the Duboce Street stop and walk up towards Castro. If you drive, there’s a parking lot at the end of the driveway on your right, or you can try to find someplace on the street before entering the driveway.
